DRAFT — not yet legal advice. This document is a structured starting point that covers the disclosures the compliance guide requires. It must be reviewed and finalized by a consumer-protection lawyer before launch, and this box must be deleted at that point.
Section 1Two kinds of message
Service messages relate to a subscription you already have: your activation email, receipts, your contract, payment notices, cancellation confirmations and support replies. We send these because you purchased a subscription and need them.
Promotional messages tell you about offers, new content or other products. We send these only if you have consented to receive them.
Section 2Consent to promotional messages
Consent to promotional messages is asked for separately from the agreement you must accept in order to subscribe. The promotional consent box is never pre-checked, and declining it does not prevent you from subscribing or affect your plan, your price or your promotional cashback.
We record the date, time and wording of the consent you gave.
Section 3What every promotional message contains
In line with Canada's anti-spam legislation, every commercial electronic message we send identifies us and lets you stop them:
- the sender: 9574-4702 Québec inc., operating as Clarifin;
- our mailing address: 4928 rue Ambroise-Lafortune, Boisbriand, Québec J7H 1S6, Canada;
- an email address and website where we can be reached: [email protected], clarifin.ca;
- a working unsubscribe mechanism.
Section 4How to unsubscribe
Use the unsubscribe link in any promotional email, reply STOP to any promotional SMS, or email [email protected] asking to be removed. We action unsubscribe requests without charge and no later than 10 business days after you send them.
Unsubscribing from promotional messages does not stop the service messages you need for a subscription you hold.
Section 5Terminology in our messages
Our emails and SMS use the same terminology as this website and your contract. A promotional cashback payment is described as a promotional cashback, never as funds, an advance or an approval. A subscription payment is described as a subscription payment, never as a repayment.
