Payment Terms

DRAFT — not yet legal advice. This document is a structured starting point that covers the disclosures the compliance guide requires. It must be reviewed and finalized by a consumer-protection lawyer before launch, and this box must be deleted at that point.

Section 1What your payments are for

Your payments are the price of your subscription and of the content and services included in your plan. They are not repayment of the promotional cashback, and they are not interest or a credit charge. We never describe them as repayments, because that is not what they are.

Section 2What is disclosed before you pay

Before you confirm your order, your order summary shows:

  • the subscription price;
  • applicable taxes;
  • any additional fees;
  • any transaction fees;
  • the total amount you will pay;
  • the number of payments;
  • the amount of each payment;
  • how often payments are taken;
  • the date of each payment;
  • the payment method.

The same information is repeated in the contract we send you.

Section 3Preauthorized debits

If you authorize preauthorized debits, your authorization covers only the amounts, the number of payments and the dates shown on your order summary. We do not take an amount, or take a payment on a date, that was not disclosed to you there.

Your authorization is recorded electronically at the moment you confirm your order, together with the version of these terms then in force.

Section 4Changing or withdrawing your authorization

You may change or withdraw your preauthorized debit authorization by emailing [email protected]. Please give us reasonable notice before the next scheduled date so we can action it in time.

Withdrawing your authorization does not by itself cancel your subscription or the amount you owe for it — to cancel, follow the Cancellation & Refund Policy. We will contact you to agree another payment method for any amount still outstanding for the plan you purchased.

You may also have recourse rights through your financial institution if a debit is not consistent with your authorization. More information is available from your financial institution or at payments.ca.

Section 5Failed or returned payments

If a payment cannot be taken we will contact you. We do not charge any fee that was not disclosed to you here and on your order summary.

Section 6Changes to amounts or dates

We will not change the amount or the date of a scheduled payment without notifying you in advance and, where required, obtaining your agreement.

Section 7Payment processor

Payments are processed by our payment processor. Your payment credentials are handled by the processor under its own security standards; we do not store full card numbers.

Section 8Receipts and records

We send a receipt for each payment and keep a record of every payment taken, which you can request at any time.
